There are many web browsers available in android market. Each browser have its strength and weakness. Most popular and major web browser are FireFox , Chrome , Opera.
If you have a low end android device then your mobile will probably struggle to run firefox or chrome. The best option here is opera mini. opera mini uses opera server to decrease size and quality of image and compreses the page and then sends it to opera mini. It reduces the data recieved. Its awsome if you have a very limited 3g data plan. It saves up to 80%. due to data compression and image quality page downloads and loads fast and saves time and battery.
Why not use opera mini on all phones ?
Because it cannot process complex pages. Opera mini computes everything at server side even javascript. So it dosnt compute javascript after page is loaded. due to which many problem arises. For example, if a page include count down for download then the count down won't move after page is loaded, a javascript/jquery image slide show won't work e.t.c. Its a good browser for reading email or browsing through facebook,google,wikipedia and so on.\
According to me These is not much difference in speed between FireFox and Chrome. But there are few differences. Chrome dosn't supports flash player. For those who don't know what flash player is. Its a player to run flash files (.swf), usually used to display video player. Flash player is also used at making games. Miniclip.com uses flash for most of their games. But Flash player is now being abandoned due to html5 which can display video player. but html5 is not as powerful as flash. Almost every mobile website uses html5 so there is no problem in watching video. But if you want to view a desktop website which dosn't have mobile version then you will need firefox. Another awsome thing firefox have is addon. you can customize your firefox mobile just as you do with your pc firefox. it have some awsome themes and plugins. one of them is flv downloader ( i forgot its name), with this plugin you can download any video that being played on either html5 or flash player in browser. You can customize your firefox in many ways. Another difference i also found was that firefox also supports WEBGL (WebGL is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D graphics and 2D graphics) but chrome dosn't.
