Qmobile is very popular in pakistan. It's most selling series is Z series. Let's take a further look into how good it actually is and is it worth buying?
Quick releasing of next models
That's the first problem with qmobile Z series. There are just too many models released in small amount of time. See the difference between Z8 and Z9, There is only 3 months difference between release date and Both of them have the exact same processor. Only difference is the downgrade in camera and screen size. Its just a downgrade. Also from z4-z6, every model have 2gb ram but z7 have 1gb.
Poor or no system upgrade
There is almost no system update given to any qmobile phones. If you want the next android version then you will have to go to their service center to update it. They will keep it for sometime if they did have a update ready for your phone. The OTA Update is only on the new phones.
Another misleading factor is that people think more ram means more performance. Sure performance can be increased but Android isn't like pc. Android is designed to keep some part of application in ram so that these apps can be launched quickly. Clearing the ram will just make the application a little slower to open. When an app needs ram usage then these part of application are closed. Sure ram cleaning application might boost performance by closing some system applications for games. But the thing is 2GB ram is more than enough for MT6753 1.3ghz processor. Even though the android os will close application in background even if you gave ram free due to processor usage but if you did somehow manage to run it, it will completely slow down your phone.
All of these Z series phone use cheap chips. Look at snapdragon 410, its a low-end chip. The kind of chip that should not be included in a flagship mobile or a mobile above 200$. Even Google criticized this.
downmarket Snapdragon chips, like the 615 and 410, don't have the GPU power Google needs for a push into virtual reality.

Snapdragon 410 also struggles in some games that work well on older mediatek chips like gta san andreas. Infinix note 2 LTE have MT6753 with 2gbram, 13/5MP camera, 6" screen with 4010mAh. This costs 17k and now 16k on daraz.pk. This is not even a local company.
This is quite a shame that qmobile just rushes out new model with close to no upgrades, The z12 only prominent feature is usb Type-C. I mean is it worth it to upgrade from z9 Plus to this phone? just for a 1gb ram more(which probably won't change any performance) and usb type-c change? Nope. It is even priced 23k!

Qmobile Z5 was the only phone in z series which was immersive. Even thought you could have get a phone with similar specs at 40k at that time when z5 was release but still z5 was a solid phone. But due to reputation of Qmobile. Most of pakistani don't risk spending more than 20k on it anyway.
My advice would be to wait a couple of months until another z series model is out and then buy z12 for under 18k.
That's it for now. What do you think about Qmobile? let me know in the comment below
